A sensor RFQ should state what the product measures and identify the exact sensing device. BME280, DHT22 and MPU6050 are not a single group of interchangeable components. Current availability must be checked by complete ordering code, and a sensor mounted on a breakout board should be distinguished from the component used in production.
Match the measurement to the device
The Bosch BME280 datasheet describes humidity, pressure and temperature sensing. The TDK InvenSense MPU-6000/MPU-6050 specification describes motion sensing with a gyroscope and accelerometer. These functions answer different application needs and require different validation methods.
For a request described as DHT22 or AM2302, confirm the exact manufacturer model and package with the supplier. ASAIR’s AM2302 product entry identifies a temperature and humidity module. Use the applicable manufacturer documentation for the offered item rather than assuming every similar-looking module follows the same specification.
Review the interface and physical integration
Record supply and I/O voltages, communication protocol and the application’s required update rate. Identify pull-ups, level translation and regulators added by an evaluation board. Those additions can obscure the requirements of the underlying sensor when moving to a custom PCB.
For environmental sensing, consider airflow, enclosure exposure, nearby heat sources and assembly contamination. For motion sensing, document the sensor orientation and mechanical mounting. Include package dimensions, axis orientation where relevant, and the manufacturer’s soldering and handling instructions in the production review.
Specify calibration and supply acceptance
Define the required accuracy and response using the finished product’s operating conditions. Compare readings with an appropriate reference and document the setup. Check firmware compensation, unit conversion and configuration instead of treating a plausible displayed value as a complete functional test.
State whether the RFQ covers bare sensors, modules or calibrated assemblies. Provide quantity, required date and packing requirements, and request exact model and lot information. Keep any alternative sensor separate until the interface, mechanical integration and measurement performance have been approved.
Frequently asked questions
Does a working breakout board validate the production sensor circuit?
It helps evaluate the device, but the production power supply, layout, enclosure and firmware still need testing. The board may contain supporting components absent from the final design.
Can sensor values be compared without matching settings?
Not reliably. Record measurement range, filtering, update rate and environmental conditions before comparing samples or candidate devices.
Request sensor sourcing from SENICO with the exact device or module definition. Availability, price and delivery terms require quotation confirmation.
