What the ratings mean for a sourcing decision
The 17 A headline assumes a controlled case temperature. It does not establish the current capability of your assembled board. Have engineering check the intended switching conditions, safe operating area and cooling before releasing a substitute. The on-resistance specification above is measured with 10 V gate drive; do not infer equivalent performance from a threshold-voltage number.
Ordering code and alternate review
Keep FCP190N65S3R0 as the full purchasing code. If a supplier drops R0 or proposes another SUPERFET part, record the offered code separately. Obtain its own datasheet and compare package dimensions, pin assignment, gate-drive requirements, switching behavior and thermal limits. A shared 650 V rating alone does not establish interchangeability.
